2020 Awards Ceremony makes history!
Global restrictions to travel and gathering meant the 2020 Gala Awards Dinner – scheduled for the Sheraton Grand Mirage, Gold Coast in April, could no longer take place. So on the 15th September 2020, for the first time in history – the 2020 CampusLink Awards were hosted virtually and broadcast live across Australia and New Zealand!
Thanks to the generous support of TAG member, Shelley Valentine, CEO at Arc@UNSW, and Jason Lyons, Head of Venue & Events, we were able to use the iconic Roundhouse venue as our backdrop.
Arc AV crew were thrilled to have the opportunity to use their well-honed skills, after a 5 month hibernation period, and provided an outstanding job of coordinating lighting, audio and stage props. A small external team from Audio Visual Events (AVE) set up the complicated video and zoom connections enabling us to cross live to TAG board directors, winning members & TAG Strategic Partners.
The awarding of our most prestigious accolade – the Tom O’Sullivan Memorial Award, motivated us to host a small number of VIP guests at the venue which included Matt O’Sullivan, son of Tom O’Sullivan, to present to the recipient in person. Wine from our generous award sponsors DeBortoli Wines plus light refreshments were served by Arc events team, while the TAG team took to the stage to announce the 2020 CampusLink Award winners!
In recognition of the Awards tradition, the event was MC’d by the esteemed Jeeves Verma, and captured for posterity by one of Arc’s resident creatives – Nick Bentley.
A huge thank you goes out to everyone who enabled these awards to go ahead under the current circumstances. We hope you all enjoyed it!
